Heaven Hill Distilleries, a US-based spirits producer and marketer, is introducing its new super-premium Larceny Bourbon, the follow-up to the wheated Bourbons, part of the Fitzgerald franchise that Heaven Hill acquired in 1999.
The company called took the services of Saxco International, a provider of packaging products and services to the liquor and wine industries, in order to deliver a distinctive and bold look in packaging.
According to Saxco, its role was to facilitate creation of a unique and balanced package design commensurate with this new spirit's quality and taste while maintaining budgetary and time-related requirements.
Saxco collaborated with Heaven Hill for the initial design of the bottle, which then refined the design to its final form.
After the design phase of the project, Saxco sourced and supplied a private mold extra flint square-shaped bottle with a bulb neck and rounded shoulders in three sizes -750 ML, 1L and 1.75L - from a renowned Asian supplier.
All three sizes were manufactured to accommodate the jet-black natural cork stopper which was crafted by J.C. Ribeiro, of Mozelos, Portugal, one of the vendors for Saxco's.
Saxco also supplied the heat shrink capsule that Heaven Hill applied to the neck of the bottle.
Heaven Hill completed the new package design with a gold, black and red label complete with a see-through skeleton key cutout.
The labels were applied by Pre-Deco of Bardstown.
